What's on during Orientation

Orientation is designed to give you the best start to life at Birkbeck. We organise a range of events for new students prior to the start of term, so that you can familiarise yourself with the campus, get to know your fellow students, and refresh your academic skills to boost your confidence before the start of your course.

Orientation begins with the Get Ahead workshops, which run throughout August and September and are based on key academic skills, such as time management, critical thinking and note taking.
We hold a Welcome to Birkbeck day at the start of the academic year, incorporating academic skills workshops, campus tours, introductions to on-campus student services, and social events.
The full listing of events for new students starting their studies in 2017-18 will be available from May 2017; however, the resources from the 2016-17 events can be found below.
