Our structure is changing. 

To benefit students, we’re bringing together small departments into larger faculties and schools which will work well together.

We will be adding detailed information about these over the summer.

In the meantime, find out more about our subjects and research.


From the 1 August Birkbeck will be made up of three faculties and nine schools:

faculty of business and law

The Faculty of Business and Law brings together our teaching and research in organizational psychology, management and law.

FACULTY of HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences brings together our teaching and research in criminology, geography, politics, psychosocial studies, sociology, creative writing, english, theatre, languages, cultures, linguistics, film, media, cultural studies, history, classics, archaeology, philosophy, art history, and counselling.

The Faculty of Science brings together our teaching and research in computer science, mathematics, biological sciences, earth and planetary sciences, and psychological sciences.
